So I've had a check engine light on for 2 years now for a bad knock sensor. Today was it's turn in the shop. I had to pull the intake to get to them so I pulled the valley cover also. There is a TSB out for a knock sensor failure due to water infiltration. So I pulled the rubber plug in the valley cover and found my rear sensor under water. So after a quick clean up and new gaskets for the valley, intake and valve covers it's all back together again. I must say that the valve covers and top of the valve train looked as clean as anything I have seen. No sludge build up or varnishing any where...I must be doing something right with regular maintenance.
