40K service with DSG

Recommended Posts

We did the 40,000 mile service on my wife's 2013 Beetle TDI with DSG. New oil, fuel, air, cabin air, and transmission filters. It was my first DSG transmission service. Tomorrow I will put it back on my friend's lift and install these backup lights.

I put new bulbs in the factory spots. LED they are bright.

the lights on the late beetles are absolutely worthless, no bulb would fix the placement on those things.

This is in a  shop with plenty of windows so I could not get it that dark.

1156 is the right bulb for your beetle?

I've bought so many bulbs in the last two months I'm not sure. I know this is what I'm using for back up lights because of the two different directions of light.

I tried to put something similar on my EOS and the canbus wouldn't let them work. I tried bypassing my OEM lights altogether and still nothing.

So I installed them on my neighbors Tracker. They are very bright.

These draw about 3 amps total by my math reckoning. So far the canbus is not barking at me on the 2013. I had a plan to put some plain LED bulbs in the tail lights without the canbus resistors to lower the overall draw, but have not needed that yet.
