That’s a sweet looking car Paul. You had a Jetta before right? I’m curious, what made you decide to get a beetle instead? More room up front for you?

I still have the Jetta.  It will most likely go up for sale.

It will be the hardest car I have ever sold as it was my brothers.

This is the bug Rusty Listed here, with the Miles on it I figure I can get more years out of it than the Jetta so that's part of my motivation.

I've never had cloth heated seats before, I must say I like them better than the leather when the heat is on.

Mike and crew at Diesel Outfitters got started yesterday. I took advantage of the car being in the air and changed the foglight bulbs and the back up bulbs.

The car is stripped of the old and the rears have been replaced. c1cff743f048938cffef6d2e106d4d1a.jpga8ecc7001f1573b4093cfea5856c4b67.jpg4abd0aa63da8c7cdfcd58435ef1b0dfe.jpg

This was my last Beetles twin, right down to the same wheels.

I picked up today and oh man it drives nice. Bumps no problem. Brakes are great. Hopefully I dont test out the new skid plate. Check engine light gone with the new glow plug harness.

I put the same brakes on my golf and I test my skit plate out every day I drive out my gravel driveway.  :D

Did you bed your brakes in following their guidelines?  Love that resin smell.

Brakes were bed in.

Russ with the wheels did you use the vw typical lug bolt or did you install studs and go to lug nuts?

Thanks Rusty. I will say it rides completely different now. Nearly as good as the Jetta.

With my wheels, the lug bore hole is so small I had to get special "tuner" lug bolts with a Allen driver, no room for a socket with stock lugs or studs and nuts.

It has all new powerstop drilled and slotted all the way around. It's good. I got very lucky on the wheels. Used off Facebook. People are selling stuff due to not working.
With all I've spent honestly I've bought the car twice but I like the result and the reliability.
Need an alignment now and its rock solid.
The new glow plug harness did fix the check engine light so that's good.
The new skid plate got tested yesterday in that guys driveway.

Who knows after I sell the Jetta maybe this car becomes a fell on "sleeper"

Went to go get the alignment done after all the suspension stuff. Looks like it will get all new tie rods first. Hopefully this will be the last step to getting that ride and drive stuff done. Parts have been ordered. Hopefully here Friday.
