04 dual mass on its way out...

Recommended Posts

So the stock dual mass fly wheel in my 04 Jetta is getting close to scattering part numbers at a time and location of its choosing. Car is bone stock at 280,000 with no blow by. Its also due for a timing belt kit (which I have waiting to be installed). Wondering if I should just pull the engine and do all the work out of the car. Thoughts? Which clutch/single mass flywheel do y’all recommend? 😎

Southbend for the clutch.

I personally would do them in the car. Do the timing belt first. I haven’t been able to find accurate timing marks on southbends single mass flywheels.

I have a South bend in my Jetta it's a huge improvement over factory!

I have a Southbend in mine since getting Malone tuning.  165,xxx on the stock one but it didn't like freeway on ramps with the new tuning.

Before Austin bought his Beetle from Philip I put in a single mass conversion from German Cascade, it holds the stage 1 tune well.
