Anyone put a hitch on there VW? I see curt makes a class 1 rated for 2000 towing and 200 tongue.

I put a lot of miles on back and forth to

the boat in the summer. A lot of times there’s just a bit too much cargo for the car so I end up taking the truck. I have a light duty hitch carrier, I’m thinking with a trailer hitch on the Jetta I could make it all fit.

Hitch on a beetle and a Jetta. It’s the small receiver 1.5” maybe???  I’d be comfortable with a couple hundred pounds hanging on them if needed.

I looked at them when I put the hitch on Terrys Santa Fe

I only put it on to use a carrier rack not pull a trailer but it could.

The way the Drawtite mounts is completely different than the Curt. The Drawtite has some braces that attach further forward. After some research I found out that the Curt needs to have straps used if you’re using it for a load that’s not a trailer (bike rack, carrier...), the Drawtite doesn’t need extra straps. Since I’m planning on running a hitch carrier on it  I ordered the Drawtite.
