New battery for the old girl

Recommended Posts

Well, after being cooped up indoors sick since Sunday, I had had enough today and needed to get out and do something .

So, my TDI has been a no start if parked for 2 days. Put the tester on it and showed weak. With cold times here now, it was off to our local battery shop(Edmonds Battery) and picked up,a new battery.

The batteries for these TDI vehicle are a bit odd and kind of pricie if you don’t shop, around a bit.

I even found an old 20% off coupon from the boat show last year and used that.

Good warranty and good price $119 plus tax .

Car starts so fast now, doesn’t even seem to crank!

The old battery looked nice still but was almost 8 years old..

Now back to chicken noodle soup and lemon tea..

If he’s stuck out on the road try pushing the AC button. Both fans should activate in AC on position. If that turns on the fans and gets him off the road good. TDI motors are very efficient and don’t generate huge heat when driving esspecially in winter... Does he have air flow to rad blocked off with a winter front or cardboard?

You’re correct Dave. It was puking some steam.

Better now.  Especially after he pulled the cardboard lol

Fans are dead but he says temps ok. Almost in Revelstoke.

Fan control module was my fix last year. A bit of a pain to change but just picky work, not heavy.
