Another long weekend

Recommended Posts

The saga continues......

I put in some serious seat time the last couple days.

Thursday morning I jumped in Marks truck and hauled his trailer home to Post falls and Mark's wife Lisa gave me a ride to the Spokane Lithia Dodge dealership (who happen to have a Demon in the showroom that may or may not have my drool on it)

I picked up my new truck and ran it over to Les Schwab to get the front end aligned. It had a slight pull to the left and with brand new tires I wanted it right.

I stayed in Marks travel trailer and took off at 3:00 am for Nampa for a quick visit with my mom on her birthday. From there I took off to Longview to Ben's to grab my camper and boat.

My trip from Post falls to Nampa to Longview was right at 1000 miles and the truck averaged 19.5 mpg empty. I am very happy with that!

I crashed in my camper and first thing this morning Ben and I put the camper tie downs on the truck and got the camper on and the boat hooked up. I jumped in and headed North. The trip home with the camper and boat did not fair so well in the milage Dept. Crazy bad traffic helped me net 11.6 mpg loaded.

The truck was great to drive in traffic! The Asin shifts so smooth it makes the go part of stop and go great. The exhaust brake made the stop part a breeze.

So all my stuff is home now and I can get some rest! I have been a stressed out mess since this whole thing started. I think I will go to bed now

Im not terribly unhappy with 11.6 mpg in stop and go traffic.

Glad you like the truck. Definitely glad you went with some bells and whistles.

Now I need a proper fuel cap and to fix the plastic radiator Y pipe and put on air bags.

Your truck has plastic end tanks new.

The y pipe is a 13-14 truck deal. They have 2 radiators and have to split the flow somehow. The Duramax and fords have used similar fittings for years (different sizes I believe)

I had to look it up when he told me.

So just the Y pipe is plastic ? And not the radiator correct ????

Sweet looking setup, but, uh, I hesitate to mention it but to keep all in balance, you need a bigger boat now to go along with your BIG rig.

Its tough to find a radiator in any vehicle anymore that does not have plastic tanks. They had there problems early on but work well now.
