Yeah. I thought it was kind of odd was the fine for a second offense was within a 5yr period. That's quite a span of years to be on a pseudo probationary period.

Fine by me. The number of wrecks we're seeing from inattentive driving seems to be escalating at a ridiculous rate.

In other news, I see Seattle passed a new tax levy. If you make fiver $250kn ingle income or $500k joint you will be giving the city 2.25%.

The new law will only be affective if it is enforced. I still see people on I-5 almost every time I'm out there, with a phone to their ear.

The new law also covers things such as eating, smoking, and grooming while driving, if you are being distracted by that activity.

As for the income tax law passed by Seattle, it is already headed to court as a violation of WA State Constitution

I saw an F150 pass me this past trip with the guy looking down. Couple miles up theres a suburban in the ditch flipped and the F150 with the front smashed. There was at least six people in the ditch stumbling around with a half dozen cars or more on the shoulder. I called the state troopers in Minnesota and told them what I saw a few minutes before I drove up on the wreck.

I've seen way too many wrecks

agree with Scotty .. I know I've seen way to many dumb azz drivers causing wrecks or sever maneuvers to mis a wreck caused by distracted un-attentive drivers

just about every time I do a long pull somewhere i/we see many acts of stupid things.

with the amount of miles Scotty puts on yearly he is at big risk each and every trip ... BE SAFE my friend

As much of a common sense issue this is.... I don't like another nanny law.

Where does it stop?

I personally think there's plenty of laws to cover this already they don't enforce. Kinda fun to lay on air horn and watch people crap when playing on phone evil I know.

If I get stuck behind some dumbass looking at his phone at a green light my standard is to lean on the horn behind them till we reach the next light. That way we're both @$$holes :D.

I walk by a stack of train horns at one truck stop and I hear them calling me.
