99 7.3 - New purchase!

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I finally did it.. I sold my 95 dodge ram cummins and picked up a 99 F250 7.3 Auto

It has a few standard mods to it.

AFE intake

5" straight exhaust

Edge Evolution programmer 15001

It has the stock turbo, and i'm willing to bet stock injectors etc etc.

My turbo is super quiet during operation, and doesn't seem to spool past about 10 - 12 psi even when I hit it pretty hard

It appears i have the GTP38.

Where do I go from here?

put in diesel fuel and drive it, till it needs a tranny, to do any mods from here are bigger dollars, injectors and a s300 turbo kit is around 8,000 plus install if needed.

a dp tuner tunner will be alot better than the edge

For sure, Ben. It's night / day different from the Dodge. I don't have to worry about shifting, leather is a ton easier to clean spilled food, etc etc.

Time for me to learn another piece of the diesel pie =)

it takes the fuel pickup and return lines, which are basically combined in a filter, and separates them entirely.

This allows for more fuel movement, and generally when you pull the sending unit out of the tank the lowest portion of the pickup tube breaks off, or is close to doing so.

I don't think it's a matter of HP gains. Those lower filters just break off over years of use. You can replace the lower portion of the filter housing, or just split the lines up and run an in-line filter after the tank

If you think about it, you'd literally never have to drop that tank again if there were no filters there

I know it seems retarded, trust me.. I know what you mean about "useless mods".
