Greyhound wanted .~!

It is called a Scenicruiser .

SN always starts out 4501 - then sequential number up to 1001

They have a raised roof about half way back with a miniature windshield up there.

it can be a conversion, abandoned , partly converted to RV, IDC

They have two axles in the rear , one is a tag.

That bus for sale that is next to that shop on its own just west of Thorp on I90 I think is one of those busses partially redone?:lol: I know that isn't much of a description but I've seen an old bus for sale there for awhile. I'm sure others have seen it too and paid more attention to it.

There was two for sale together at the wrecking yard outside of Quincy for awhile but that was a few years ago. I haven't really paid attention recently.

Exit 93 and go east a little bit on the frontage road. Just past the fruit stand. It has been there so long I bet it shows up on Google street view from the freeway. Never could really figure out if it was a genuine Scenicruiser or if they made it look like one though.

It looks like this image was taken in 2014.

Here's a pic to compare.. looks legit to me. except seems shorter. maybe just an illusion without the windows...

Up on the hill! I know where it is at. This is miles from Cle Elum :D

I can stop by on the way over on Monday morning and see if there is a sign, and I can call any numbers. If I strike out Monday I can stop back on Thursday and look for humans.

It is totally not out of my way. No worries.

Looking at the picture I don't believe they raised the roof at all. It is just a shorter wheelbase version. Optical illusion.

EDIT: OOPS.

I see it now, they raised the whole roof.

When I pulled both pics up on my desktop and compared them... well, I'm not convinced that they did raise the roof.. it'll be interesting to see what Kelly finds out.

You're right Kelly, it looks like the entire roof is higher. I was only looking at the upper deck.

Those are called "Buffalo" busses. Most were intercity.

That is insane price!

Willie nelsons was bought last week for 44000 bucks!

Back to the scenicruiser-

The scenicruiser, -was made for only four years. ( in the 1950s)

They sell somewhere between zero and 60,000 depending on stuff.

They are a money pit (if you have no skills) and get moved around like an ugly orphan.

people get into deep, deep financial trouble in a BIG, Big hurry!

They started out with TWO 471 DD and an auto system. (You read right)

It was not long B4 those were all replaced a DD 8-71 by a shop called Marmon...remember Marmon Trks?

People buy these and find them jerry-rigged in all directions.

One has to be prepared to replace the everything .

This one will need the roof lowed back dwn and a million other things .

If i remember right this one has a Cat engine stuffed in there all kinds o wrong.

But IDC

If I had the basic structure I could make it pretty again .

I do not want to scratch build a bus..LOL
