6.0l diesel 2003

Recommended Posts

My boss's excursion just got diagnosed with no compression in cylinder no. 1. So it can be one of three things which they will find out on Monday. Either bad valve, hole in piston, or bad rings. Who does he take to get rebuild?

I didn't know they put the 6.0 in the excursion. most likely valve issue the other two would have fuel dilution and blowby

I too thought they had the 7.3 in 2003

34% were the 7.3

60% were they 6.0

6% was the gasser

Does the body have to come off those to pull the heads? Pulling the cab on a pickup wouldn't be that bad, but the whole body?

No compression on number one. Did they pull the oil cap while it's running? If it's billowing out.... Most likely block side for problems. If it's not, then probably a cracked head.

Drivers side head is easily enough removed in truck.

Going to find out Monday what is going on with it. I pulled the body on my excursion when I did all the fixes to my 6.0l - it was a lot easier than I thought it would have been.
