Heck of a first post but here goes.
My truck has been missing VERY intermittantly, and I did the key turn thing, and it threw this back at me.
Oh, its a 2001 Dodge Cummins.
It flashed the following:
PCU 1693
ECU 0216
Can you guys tell me what this means?
Also could you tell me the warranty on the 01? It was probably only 5/100000 I suppose.
I have had the truck since it was new in Sept of 01, and only have 82K on it, but am probably screwed.
Thanks for your insight.
Aaron.

0216 VP44 death code.
1693 companion code.
You ask one question and get told you need to replace a 1500 dollar pump, welcome to the NWBombers.

Welcome to the board.
Sorry about the injection pump, been there done that (twice) got the t-shirt to prove it!
Thanks. I don't want the shirt though.
I'm getting the lift pump redone, gonna see if I can get a little more time out of the VP. Just trying to decide between the FASS or the BD Power. I like the idea of the extra filters of the FASS, but my truck is pretty much stock and I think the BD may be enought to do what I need. It seems to be running just fine at this time, who knows.

I had actually already printed that out. Also had my book out and on page 12 it clearly states that the warranty for the Cummins engine starts AFTER the 3/36. We'll have to see what they say.
Don't know if I have it in me to go down the road to a big fight.
Thanks for the info.

I intend on getting my $750 back too, and will start my letter campaign as soon as I can get some miles on the truck with my 30 foot Komfort behind it to make sure all is well.
Thanks for the info you guys gave. It helped alot. Next purchase, fuel pressure/pyro gauges in a pod.
